His Majesty King Kamehameha V

Born Lot Kapuāiwa, King Kamehameha V was the fifth and final monarch of the House of Kamehameha. He promulgated the Constitution of 1864, and reigned until his death on December 11, 1872 — his 42nd birthday — without naming a successor, ending the direct bloodline of the Kamehameha dynasty.
